Overview

This page brings together the LaTeX resources available at The College of Wooster. The site is maintained by Dr. Jon Breitenbucher. Here you will find local files including the woosterthesis class (used for IS), a homework style, and letterhead style. I have also provided some guides for learning LaTeX and links to Web resources. To use the homework or letterhead styles you must download the wooster.zip file. If all you intend to do is use LaTeX for IS then you should only need to download a TeX installer (listed below), a TeX editor (listed below), and the Example_IS_files.zip file.

Web Resources

Windows users should download the "Small MikTeX" installer and follow the installation directions leaving all values unchanged during the install process. Mac users should download i-Installer and follow its directions. In i-Installer a minimum installation will include installing the TeX package from the "Known Packages i-Directory" under the i-Package menu. When asked, do a Full install and install any packages that the installer indicates are missing. After installing TeX download one of the editors for your platform and try to Typeset (TeXShop) or Build PS->PDF (TeXnicCenter) the Main_IS_file.tex in a copy of the Example_IS_files folder. In TeXnicCenter you should be warned that there are missing packages. Choose to install any packages that are missing. If everything has been installed correctly, you should get a copy of the example IS.
